There’s still time to plan a late summer holiday but how easy is it to continue your regular skincare whilst away from home?
Certainly a holiday in the sun can be extremely appealing, if only as a well-earned break from our jobs. However, sudden exposure to intense sun and changes in diet and routines mean that hydration and good skincare must be a priority to avoid potential skin damage.
Sun care products must have an appropriate SPF rating for protection and, ideally, should also contain antioxidant vitamins to help mop up potential damage caused to skin cells by exposure to the sun.
Other tips when in hot climates include:
- Avoid exposure to the sun between 10 am and 3pm when the sun is at its strongest
- Extra protection in strong sunshine for eyes and lips
- Remember that sunscreen is just as important on cloudy or hazy days as you can still get sunburnt without direct sunlight
